Wed Apr 06, 2005 at 07:11:59 AM PDT

From today's Poughkeepsie Journal Too late, FDR site approves meeting we learn that the Director of the FDR Library says:

''We certainly regret people have seen us as opponents of freedom of speech,''

To underscore that, [National Archivist] Weinstein  plans to visit the Roosevelt library Friday afternoon and hold an open forum on freedom of expression and civil liberties, Koch said.

BREAKING! Soc.Sec. Censorship at FDR Library

Fri Apr 01, 2005 at 02:05:32 PM PDT

I'm posting this for Joe since he just created a new account!

This is my first diary.   I wanted to make everyone aware of a situation that is occurring in Dutchess County, New York.  My name is Joseph Ruggiero, I am the Dutchess County Democratic Committee Chairman and Town Supervisor of the Town of Wappinger.
I am outraged that the Bush Administration is censoring a forum on Social Security sponsored by the American Association of University Women (AAUW), Older Women's League (OWL), and League of Women Voters (LWV).   The forum was scheduled to be held Saturday, April 9, from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Wallace Center located on the FDR site in Hyde Park, New York (Dutchess County).

Well, I tried this in an open thread, but somehow the whole thread spun into a discussion about open threads... SO I'm trying (my first!) diary. This is important. Rep. Hinchey is so outspoken and stands up for us, let's show our support by voting in the on-line poll at our local paper The Daily Freeman. Here is the email requesting our help:
