Pissing Rainbows and Shitting M&M's
An ever increasing number of you act as if "your" candidate could piss a rainbow and shit M&M’s. Some of you blow sunshine up the candidates asses so much that it becomes harder and harder to distinguish where politics ends and religion begins. If that wasn’t bad enough, some of you proudly declare that if "your" candidate doesn’t win the nomination, you won’t even bother to vote for the one that does. It’s people like this that don’t need to be in politics at all. For them, none of this is about electing someone to public office. It’s about finding someone that they can follow to make their lives feel worthwhile. It’s sickening, weak, and pathetic
Response To Rep Louise Slaughter - Updated

I am not in anyway speaking for the Daily Kos community, but a response is necessary. This diary is not intended toward her alone either, but to all of those that took steps to continue this war.
Please follow me over the jump.
Update:
Some have commented that Democrats have no power to end this war because they don't have Republican support, and because Bush will veto it anyway. I don't give a damn about a veto. I don't give a damn about republican support.
If the bill that he vetoed last time was sent again, and he vetoed it again, then he would be the one holding up funding. There goes the "Democrats Wont Fund Our Troops" frame. More importantly, there would still be no funding, and if there is no funding, then there is no war.
Some say that the Democrats would be blamed regardless, and they may be right. But there would still be no funds for the war, and there would still be no rational basis for saying that Democrats didn't try to fund it.
We need to fight the labels and lies they try to pin on us more, and if we did that half as much as some try to defend the indefensible, we would be much better off.
Defining Democrats?
Mon May 21, 2007 at 10:58:10 AM PDT
Introduction
A little over a year ago, John Halpin, at the Center for American Progress, warned that Democrats were suffering from a lack of definition. The public simply doesn’t know what we stand for. They know we are against the war, and they are too. But the war isn’t going to last forever, and when it ends, they are going to want to know. (1)
An Open Note To Women: From An Asshole.

The top of the recommended list displays a diary entitled, "How Not To Be An Asshole: A Guide for Men." As a guy, what do you think my initial reaction to that title is going to be? I can’t speak for all men, but for many men the first impression is that the author believes that all men are assholes, and therefore need a guide on how to not be assholes. But some may say that I’m reading too much into the title and taking it a little bit personally. Maybe I am, but I have to wonder the reaction I’d get if I wrote a diary and entitled it, "How Not To Be Too Emotional: A Guide For Women." I would be vilified as a misogynist, and ran out of town.
